Downtown HomeGroups

It is our understood mission that Jesus has called us to be His hands and feet in the world- and our community is oriented around this mission. We engage in the spiritual discipline of meeting in smaller groups for helping one another in following Christ, becoming more like Him in love toward God, each other, and the world around us.

Each of these groups have different flavors, appeal to different kinds of people and are “being the church” in very different ways. They range anywhere from 5 to 30 people- ideally small enough for stronger encouragement, prayer, and spiritual challenges from others united in following Jesus.

Mondays – Assisted Living
We are a mixed group of singles, marrieds, parents, grads, and undergrads who meet on Mondays.  We start with dinner together and our two simple goals are to learn how God is speaking to us and working in and around our lives and to encourage one another to take steps in following God’s leading.  Contact Joe Racek.

Wednesdays- Downtown Blacksburg Home Group
A group consisting of a mixture of young and older marrieds, singles, grad students, and working professionals who share their lives, study the word, and pray together. Meeting Wednesdays in Blacksburg.  Contact Carl Staats.

Thursdays – Christiansburg Home Group
Our Home Group is a spiritual family of married couples living the Christiansburg area. Our goals include cultivating Christ-centered marriages, building discipleship-oriented relationships, and providing opportunities to serve others. We meet at 6:30 on Thursday nights at rotating houses.  Contact Adam or Hannah Simpson.

Thursdays – Home Group
Our homegroup will meet on Thursday nights at 6:30 at 502 Owens Street, less than a mile from campus. We hope this group will be like a second family or a home away from home as we enjoy meals together each night and study the scriptures and pray for each other.  We desire this to be a group filled with a variety of people from all stages of life, undergrads and graduate students, working adults, singles and married couples. We plan to have babysitting for any families that have young children, as well.  Contact David or Wendy Chinn.
